Updates to Come

Candle Friends!

It's been a long time coming, but I had a lot of time over my break in March to think about the future of Serpent & Flame.  I know that sentence always sounds like the beginning of a goodbye.  This is not.  This is the beginning of the next chapter so that Serpent & Flame can continue on through the shifting seas of small business life.

Over the remainder of 2026, you're going to see the following things happen:

-A branding upgrade designed by our friend, applediteart (For our long time customers, Mal used to be my fantabulous booth babe at conventions)

-Collection consolidation: Sales and your feedback have helped me start deciding what is going to stay and what is going to go.  I'm going to come up with our core collections and their core scents.  Core items will be made in candles, melts, perfume, etc. and available all year.  The core candles will even return in our drip dye style that I know many of you used to love.

-Retirement sale: I need to bring down our candle selection by half (minimum) in order to stay sustainable.  Scents will either retire or go seasonal.  Twice a year, I plan on having a "Raise the Dead" event where you get to vote on retired blends to bring back for sale.

-More Author Collections:  Once I'm able to get all of our licensed candles in the same style jars, I am hoping to reach out to more authors to create book candles for you. After losing the Sarah J. Maas license, the wind was knocked out of my sails, but some recent inspirations have brought that drive back.

-Item variety: Once we get our core collections down, you will see all the core scents available in candles, sprays, wax melts, car air fresheners (coming soon), and perfume.  Having a smaller range of scents will help me keep things available for you.

I don't have a timeline set in stone yet, but I'll make announcements as things happen.

After 13 years, it's finally time to work smarter and not harder.  I know a few of my long time helpers are probably giving me side eye and shouting "Finally!" to the heavens.

As always, each and every one of you is appreciated.  Thirteen years is a very long time for a small business like mine to keep on chugging along, but I do and it's thanks to you.  If you have any questions at all, please reach out.  The email form is under the "Shop Info" section and my DMs are always open on Instagram and Threads (for fastest responses).

Take care of yourselves.
